A pretty fun rap remix of the national anthem, ‘O Canada’.

Today is Canada Day (or Fête du Canada for the Québecois), the national celebration of the enactment of the British North America Act, which was signed on the 1st of July, 1867, and united the three British colonies of New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and the Province of Canada, into a new kingdom, Canada. The British government still held elements of political control which were gradually shed, culminating in the 1982 Constitution Act.

The event will be celebrated all over Canada and also internationally, from Trafalgar Square in London to Hong Kong, host of the wittily titled ‘Canada D’Eh’ event.

Tonight I shall be celebrating this historic event in Canadian style in an SF pub with a few Canadian beverages! I plan to stay as far away as possible from the poutine however….
