Without a doubt Dottie’s is my number one favourite place for breakfast in San Francisco. It’s in a grotty part of town (the Tenderloin), and you pretty much always have to queue but it is SO worth it (unlike the famous Mama’s, which I find to be a bit overhyped).

Everything at Dottie’s is delicious… They have an incredible specials board which changes daily, but my favourite is the omelette as it’s yummy, comes with great potatoes and their incredible homemade toast. Their bread has cornmeal and dill (I think!) in it and it’s out of this world. Coffee is good and plentiful, so give it a try and don’t be too put off by the gritty location!

This is the view from the counter, one guy does all the cooking. It’s quite phenomenal!
