Yesterday we escaped to Napa for a gorgeously sunny day wining and dining… It’s such a short drive and yet it feels like worlds away from San Francisco, especially when you’re leaving in the middle of the morning fog!

First up was lunch at Bottega in Yountville, which was delicious and I would certainly recommend it if you’re in the area.

They have a very impressively stocked bar…

pretty table settings…

and most importantly of all, delicious food. I had skirt steak with parmesan fries, arugula salad and some sort of delicious salsa, alongside a glass of Prosecco.

After our delicious lunch we headed over to the Carneros vineyard for a tour and tasting. This was pretty great, we got to try lots of different types of wine and learnt mostly about how they make sparkling wine. I’d recommend it if you’re interesting in tasting the different types of wine, however I’ve seen more detailed tours of the wine making process if that’s what you’re particularly keen on seeing.
